Abstract
Nowadays, individuals have the ability to conveniently place their electric devices on wireless chargers for recharging. What if this same technology could be applied to EVs? This inquiry potentially obviates the need for low power density, high cost, and heavy weight associated with plug-in charging. Wireless power transfer (WPT) represents a power delivery method characterized by high performance, durability, and adaptability, reducing reliance on battery storage. This paper presents an overview of WPT technology by primarily examining the principle and theory of wireless charging, discussing the merits and limitations, and investigating the modes of charging systems, such as stationary and dynamic charging. In conclusion, this paper provides a rational discussion on the future development trajectory of charging in relation to WPT, advocating that this promising renewable energy transmission mechanism holds a significant potential for widespread integration into daily human life.
