Research on the Application of POA Theory in the Cultivation of English Listening and Speaking Abilities in Universities

Abstract
The "Production-oriented Approach" (POA) Theory is widely used in the English teaching in Chinese high schools and universities. Guided by this theory, taking "Unit 6 Architecture" in "Listening Critically :Savoring Culture" as an example , this article explores its applicability and positive effects in teaching practice and reflection, combined with the teaching of English majors in our college. It has been proven that English teaching guided by the POA theory has adaptability in our teaching and can be used in a wider range.
