Learning Motivation Influencing College Students' English Pragmatic Competence

Abstract
Pragmatic competence is to the ability to use language appropriately and effectively, which is a significant component of communicative competence. As one of the important factors in individual differences, learning motivation has a certain impact on the cultivation of pragmatic competence. This research explores the relationship between English pragmatic competence and learning motivation, and finds the correlation between them. The research findings have important implications for pragmatic teaching, and suggestions were proposed based on the specific situation of students' English pragmatic competence.
