Abstract
In today's increasingly globalized world, as an important tool for international communication, the education quality and effectiveness of English have attracted much attention. This paper focuses on the current situation and challenges of the English education in private colleges. Through multi - dimensional analysis, it aims to explore effective paths to improve teaching quality, reveals the problems existing in private colleges in terms of teaching staff, students' foundation, curriculum setting, and teaching quality evaluation, etc., and accordingly proposes a series of targeted improvement strategies. These strategies cover policy support, capital investment, teaching staff construction, teaching method innovation, cultivation of students' autonomous learning ability, and optimization of the teaching quality evaluation system, etc., aiming to promote the comprehensive reform of the English education in private colleges, improve students' language application ability and cross - cultural communication ability, and further enhance their employment competitiveness.
