Abstract
The picture book is the reading carrier closest to the characteristics of children's cognitive development. The language is concise and vivid, and the painting is exquisite and beautiful, which is helpful for the development of children's observation ability, language expression ability and creativity. Nowadays, picture book reading has become a common teaching activity in kindergarten activities. However, due to the limitation of conditions, it is impossible for children to read with one hand, and the picture of the picture book is still, which makes it difficult for children to concentrate when reading. Based on multimedia technology, this paper discusses how to enhance the interest of children's reading picture books. By using animation, sound effects and interactive elements, multimedia technology can transform static picture book content into dynamic and colorful audio-visual experience. This innovative way of education can not only attract children's interest, improve their reading enthusiasm, but also promote the development of children's imagination and creativity. The results show that the picture book reading method combined with multimedia technology has a significant effect on improving children's reading ability, language expression ability and cognitive development. Therefore, early childhood educators should actively explore more applications of multimedia technology in picture book reading, and provide better reading experience for children in innovative education methods.
